Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State, has celebrated his father, billionaire businessman Sir Kenssington Adebukunola Adebutu, on his 91st birthday, recounting the life lessons that have shaped his character.

Adebutu, popularly known as Lado and regarded as a leading face of the PDP in Ogun State, shared the birthday message on social media on Saturday, expressing gratitude to God for his father’s life and influence.

In the tribute titled “Things My Father Taught Me,” the politician described his father’s 91 years as a rare blessing, highlighting his values of faith, discipline, responsibility and love for humanity.

“Baba, you taught me that success is nothing without a good name and character. You taught me to work hard, speak the truth and keep my word, even when it costs something,” he wrote.

Lado said his father demonstrated the importance of integrity through his actions, rather than merely offering advice to his children.

He also credited the elder Adebutu with instilling in him the values of fairness, compassion and giving back to society.

According to him, his father’s generosity and willingness to help others have positively affected families, friends and communities, often without seeking recognition.

“I have watched you give your time, counsel and help to many people, often quietly and without wanting thanks. Families, friends and communities are better because you were there,” he declared.

The PDP chieftain also described his father as the family’s anchor, saying he provided stability during difficult periods and encouraged humility and gratitude during good times.

“Whatever I have become, your example is a part of it,” Ladi added, thanking his father for his prayers, patience and confidence in him.

The popular politician prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health and more joyful years for the nonagenarian, whom he affectionately addressed as “Odole.”

The birthday celebration coincides with a politically significant date for Lado, as Saturday, October 24, is the deadline reportedly given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for reviewing the omission of his name from the final list of candidates for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The development has placed the PDP candidate’s electoral status in focus as preparations for the next governorship contest continue.
