Bode George, Tunde Adeniran Face Disqualification In Race To Become PDP Chairman For Contesting While Still BOT Members

Contenders Bode George and Tunde Adeniran face disqualification from the race to become the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party.

And the pressure to dump them out of the race is said to be growing by the minute.

The speedily growing campaign to disqualify the two-party chieftains is said to be premised on failure to resign positions as members of the Board of Trustees of the Southwest People’s Democratic Party before contesting for the position of National Chairman.

“It raises serious legal and moral issues and goes strongly against the principle of fair play to all aspirants and all other stakeholders…and should naturally disqualify them from the process”.

“They cannot be contesting from a position that gives them undue advantage over other aspirants, that is very very wrong” an insider stated emphatically to societynow.

Petitions to “address” the issue before the Saturday, December 9 National Convention that would determine who becomes the National Chairman are said to be pouring into the party’s national secretariat.

Ironically, the attention of stakeholders was brought to the “situation” involving Adeniran and George was brought to the notice of other stakeholders when the “BOT” they are a part of endorsed the two of them – and Taoheed Adedoja – as the candidates of the south-west for the Chairmanship position.

The move which has now backfired was reportedly primed at edging Gbenga Daniel, Jimi Agbaje, Rasheed Ladoja, Wale Oladipo and Akin- Deko Akintayo from the process.
