Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written Incumbent Muhammadu Buhari over the death of Chief of Staff Abba Kyari.
Kyari gave up the ghost in the course of treatment for global scourge Covid-19.

His death very late on the night of Friday, April 17, 2020, has attracted widespread reaction.

One of the reactions is that of Obasanjo who wrote a condolence letter to President Buhari over the demise of one of his most loyal aides.

Obasanjo in the letter disclosed that he received the news of the death of Kyari with ” great sadness” and opined that he is sure the development “must be painful to you (Buhari), his family and friends”.

The former president, however, urged the incumbent to take solace in the fact that Kyari died ” in harness, in the service of his country”.

Obasanjo also urged “His death must be a solemn reminder to all of us that Covid-19 requires all hands on deck….to fight it successfully and to get all Nigerians back to good health and healthy economy.”

The former President who signed the condolence letter “yours sorrowfully Olusegun Obasanjo” ended the letter with “God will give you and Abba Kyari’s family and friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May Allah receive his soul”.
