Tinubu To Lead Special FEC Session In Honour Of Buhari Today
on Thursday, July 17, at 5 p.m
A special session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will be held on Thursday, July 17, at 5 p.m in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The event, which will take place at the State House in Abuja, is expected to be a solemn gathering of tributes and reflections on the life and legacy of the departed Nigerian leader.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will preside over the session, leading serving ministers and top government officials in paying their last respects to Buhari, who passed away earlier this week. The Council session is part of the series of national events lined up to commemorate the life of the former president, widely regarded for his strong-willed leadership and commitment to public service.
The special FEC meeting will feature eulogies from close associates, cabinet members, and heads of key institutions who worked closely with Buhari during his time in office. It will provide a moment of reflection on his contributions to Nigeria’s governance and development.
As preparations continue for his state burial, Thursday’s event will stand as a symbolic farewell by the nation’s current leadership to one of its former commanders-in-chief.
