Leaders of workers Nigerian Labour Congress face disgrace in the planned national protest scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in Ogun state.

The protest which is meant to highlight the bad treatment Governor Amosun alleged meted out to workers kicks off barely four days to the make or mar gubernatorial and state house of assembly election in the state.

Governor Amosun just earned a suspension – with the recommendation of expulsion – from the ruling All Progressives Congress over an intense and open campaign to make gubernatorial candidate of rival Allied People’s Movement, Adekunle Akinlade his successor.

Amosun who is strongly against Dapo Abiodun, the gubernatorial candidate of his party becoming the next governor of Ogun state has labeled the planned national protest of the NLC in Ogun state as “political”.

The governor publicly warned the NLC leaders to stay off his state or face disgrace.

Societynow.ng gathered in the face of the threat from the governor, the NLC leaders shifted the planned kick off of the protest from the initial date of Friday, February 1 to Tuesday, February 5.

The investigation by societynow.ng revealed that the disgrace the leaders of NLC really face in Ogun state is not from Amosun but the workers in the state.

Societynow.ng learned that there is a very strong possibility of dismissal attendance from workers over the fear of eruption of violence.

“The general feelings among workers is that things are likely to turn extremely ugly with both Amosun and NLC leaders adamant on having their ways” societynow.ng.

Governor Amosun is widely known to possess extraordinary clout in the use of street muscle and the NLC is also known to parade tough characters in its rank.

“Workers in Ogun state are sharing thoughts and sentiments in trying to avoid being the victim in a scenario of when two elephants fight” an insider stated.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed that “the talks on the need to protect self in the engagement meeting Labour and the Governor are very popular among workers in Ogun state and is very likely to affect workers attendance at the planned National protest against Amosun”.
