Emerging details have it that the supporters of serial gubernatorial candidate Ladi Adebutu are back in charge of the Ogun state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) – but they are yet to take full control.

This development is courtesy of the swearing-in of a caretaker committee with members amenable to the money bag widely known as the biggest pig farmer in this part of the world.

It saves the blushes of the popular politicians from the scathing allegations made by immediate past party chairman Sikirulai Ogundele placing the blame of alleged disunity resulting in election defeats at the doorstep of Adebutu.

This despite the fact that Adebutu nearly stopped won the 2023 Ogun state gubernatorial election, losing to incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun by less than fourteen votes.

Insiders disclosed that although the appointment of caretaker committee for the party firmly puts Adebutu back in the driver’s seat – he is far from regaining control of the party.

Sources say aside from the discontent of Ogundele and his co-travelers, Adebutu is facing a bigger threat from the growing influence of a former leader of his party now operating in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former leader, presently an elected political office holder, has re-awaken his virile support base in the PDP through touching life gestures that defy political lines.

Those who should disclose that the re-awakened support base is made more threatening, based on the claims that the former PDP leader is holding on to the larger part of the splintered intimidating political structure of late Kashumu Buruji – by proxy.
