The Secret -And Agony – Behind Gov Oyetola’s Projects
Eniola Ajayi
Government is a continuum. And the Governor of Osun state Adegboyega Oyetola is proving that statement.
Governor Oyetola is not resting on his oars in the execution of projects left behind by his predecessor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola – especially road constructions.
Societynow.ng gathered that Oyetola is taking pains to complete all the projects initiated by Aregbesola and flag off those already contracted out before he took office.
‘’This move is good for Governor Oyetola because it shows he is working and gives him projects to point, especially if he gets to complete them’’ societynow.ng learned.
Insiders, however, revealed that there is a silent pain to the bargain giving Oyetola good props.
‘’The state finances are tied up in all the projects till well after Oyetola completes his term of office. He is finding it hard to pay the salary of workers in the state’’ societynow.ng learned.
Insiders disclosed that the state of the state’s finances is so tight for Oyetola that ‘’he dare not take on any other project outside of the ones Aregbesola already tied the state’s fortune’’.
‘’Oyetola is just making the best out of a bad situation. His core duties as things stand are just to continue paying the debts piled up by Aregbesola, monitor the execution of contracts the former governor has tied the state to and struggle to pay the salary of workers. He is not finding it funny but cants groan out loud about the situation of things’’ societynow.ng learned.
There are, however, those who believe that Oyetola is struggling hard to raise fund to initiate one or two projects that outside of the ones he is forced to see out.
