Sen Daniel’s Men Begin Open Campaign To Retain Seat Amid Intense Talks Of Interest From Gov Abiodun
the incumbent, wants to retain the position.
The gloves are totally off in the battle to determine who becomes the Senator representing Ogun East in the next political dispensation.
Senator Gbenga Daniel, the incumbent, wants to retain the position.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who leaves office after two terms spanning eight years, is heavily linked with talks of interest in the senatorial seat.
Daniel, also a former two-term governor of Ogun State, and Abiodun are both chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, Senator Daniel’s men have now blown the lid off the early underground struggle for the Ogun East senatorial ticket in the APC with open campaigns urging constituents to make an early decision on whom to side with.

“We cannot afford to be complacent. We must settle it in our hearts now. Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD) is the best and only choice for Ogun East,” one of the advocates for the former governor declared in a material titled “Ogun East, The Time to Decide Is Now, Not 2027.”
The material, authored by Olarenwaju R. Adebayo, was shared on Senator Daniel’s social media page. It went on to spotlight Daniel’s major achievements in a strong attempt to sway the people of Ogun East to his side.
This development marks the first time Senator Daniel has openly made his intentions clear this early in pursuit of a political goal, with observers saying it highlights the importance of the struggle to retain his senatorial seat.
The move comes ahead of deliberate efforts by Governor Abiodun to improve his standing in the senatorial district through increased projects—a strategy Daniel has consistently adopted since before his election as Senator representing Ogun East.
