Obanikoro Moves To Mother’s Village To Become Lagos West Senator

Musiliu Obanikoro, the former minister who decamped from the People Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the midst of his trouble with anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has started moves to become a Senator on the strength of his new political platform.

Sources disclosed now free of his corruption accusation after becoming an APC member, Obanikoro has started underground campaign to actualize the ambition which is one of the terms of negotiation that made him exit PDP.

But unlike his last time out as Senator information coming to fore has it that Obanikoro intends to contest as a Senator representing Lagos West.

He formerly represented Lagos Central, the position now occupied by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s wife Remi.

Checks by societynow revealed that in changing his political base, Obanikoro intends to leverage on the clout of his mother’s family – the Ajayi Bembes.

“Obanikoro will be contesting as one of the sons from his mother’s village in Ojo” a source disclosed.

Societynow learnt the Ajayi Bembe’s are the custodian of popular chieftaincy title “Obanikoro of Lagos”.
