“Most Untrue & Baseless” – Access Bank Reacts To Claims Of Missing N500m Deposit
after “thorough investigation” involving independent stakeholders.
Leading financial institution, Access Bank has described claims of a missing N500m Deposit in its coffers as “most untrue and baseless”.
The financial institution recently named the 2024 Best Digital Award Winner in the commercial banks category at the Digital Jurist Awards, organised by Phillips Consulting reacted to the emerging claims on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The bank which is part of the larger Access Bank Holdings Plc disclosed the reaction comes after “thorough investigation” involving independent stakeholders.
“There is no N500million or any other fund or amount missing from the subject customer’s account or from any other customer’s account with us.
“We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these allegations and independently arrived at the same conclusions” the bank stated in a statement with the header “Allegations of Missing Funds in Access Bank PLC”
Emphasizing that “the safety and security of our customers’ funds are core priorities which we take seriously, the bank that just boosted its capital with N442B through syndicated tier – 11 capital asserted “Access Bank Plc does not engage in or condone any unethical behaviour.”

Our attention has been drawn to a video on social media wherein allegations of missing funds and unethical behaviour have been made against Access Bank PLC.
First and foremost, we wish to emphasise that the safety and security of our customers’ funds are core priorities which we take seriously. Second, Access Bank Plc does not engage in or condone any unethical behaviour.
In the instant case, the allegations of missing funds in the Bank are most untrue and baseless.
There is no N500million or any other fund or amount missing from the subject customer’s account or from any other customer’s account with us.
We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these allegations and independently arrived at the same conclusions.
