BUA Group Warns Public Against Fraudsters Claiming To Be From Conglomerate
“Beware of scammers and do not fall for any fraud
The BUA Group has issued a public alert warning against scams and fraudulent activities being carried out in its name.
The conglomerate clarified it does not offer funds or grants through unofficial channels or unauthorized individuals.
In a statement released on Tuesday, BUA emphasized that all philanthropic grants and initiatives connected to its Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, are handled exclusively under the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa).
“Beware of scammers and do not fall for any fraud purporting to be from BUA Group, BUA Foundation, ASR Africa, or any BUA company. BUA will not be liable for any losses suffered by anyone who falls prey to these fraudulent schemes,” the statement read.
The company urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities or social media pages impersonating the organization to law enforcement agencies.
“The public is advised to report any such scam and pages to the appropriate law enforcement agencies” the company which is a major contributor to the Nigerian economy declared.
And added that “For further inquiries or to report such incidents, individuals can visit the official websites of BUA Group (www.buagroup.com) and ASR Africa (www.asrafrica.org), or send an email to [email protected]. The group’s verified social media platforms are also open for communication”
This alert comes amid rising cases of scams targeting individuals and businesses across Nigeria.
