In Ogun state, Governor Ibikunle Amosun shocked many with the performance credited to him in Saturday’s election.

Claims that Amosun is comfortably cruising to victory has left many mouths agape.

The Governor who is the All Progressives Congress’s Senatorial candidate for Ogun Central went into the election as an unpopular candidate.

He faced strong opposition from a faction of his party.

The opposition against him within his party gave main rival Titi Oseni of the African Democratic Congress a strong footing ahead of the election.

Amosun is facing heat from his party men for sponsoring rival candidates for the general election on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement – particularly for the position of Governor of state.

But on Saturday, all reports – yet to be officially confirmed – claim Amosun was comfortable cruising to victory.
