Actress Funke Akindele and her husband JJC Skillz (Abdulrasheed Bello) are making plans to quash their conviction for violating the lockdown and social distancing law.

The couple was convicted by a Lagos Magistrate Court after pleading guilty and sentenced to a 14 days community service, N100.000 fine each and 14 days isolation at a location determined by the government.

The development effectively consigned the couple to the status of ‘’ex-convict’’ and they intend to fight this in court.

Societyow.ng gathered that the Bellos has briefed an Abuja based lawyer – Tunji Oba – to explore the possibility of appealing their conviction.

It is believed that the actress and her husband are emboldened to make the move based on how gubernatorial aspirant Babatunde Gbadamosi, his wife Folashade and singer Naira Marley walked free from similar charges that earned the couple conviction.

The trio was arrested for flouting the lockdown and social distancing rule by attending the infamous house party but unlike the bellos, the did not get a conviction – not even an arraignment.

Gbadamosi, his wife and Naira Marley were told to write an apology letter, undertaken to abide by the social distancing rule and agreement to self-isolate for 14 days.
