BUA Group has added the newly launched Bombardier Global 8000 to its growing fleet, marking another strategic move by the conglomerate to keep pace with the operational demands of its rapidly expanding businesses.

The agreement for the acquisition of the Global 8000 — Bombardier’s newest flagship aircraft — was concluded at the company’s Dubai office, highlighting BUA’s increasing global footprint and the need for greater mobility as its investments deepen across multiple sectors.

The new addition comes amid a string of high-value deals sealed by the Abdul Samad Rabiu–led group in recent months, reflecting an aggressive push to strengthen capacity, improve efficiency and consolidate its position as one of Africa’s fastest-expanding industrial players.

Only days ago, BUA Group signed an agreement with Green Power International PVT Limited to develop a 22-megawatt gas-based power plant to support the ongoing expansion of IRS Flour & Pasta, its fast-growing food processing subsidiary. The power plant is expected to enhance energy reliability and enable further scale-up of production.

Similarly, the company announced a new partnership with India’s Shrijee Group to execute additional works at the LASUCO Sugar Mill and Refinery in Kwara State — one of BUA’s largest sugar investments aimed at deepening Nigeria’s backward integration in the sugar sector.

BUA Group also sealed a strategic deal with Bühler to build a 32-tonnes-per-hour rice processing line, reinforcing its ambition to boost domestic rice production and bridge supply deficits. In another significant move within Nigeria’s agribusiness value chain, the conglomerate partnered with Viteral Integrated Milling Systems to construct a 40-tonnes-per-hour feed mill factory.

Industry watchers say the acquisition of the Bombardier Global 8000 aligns with the scale of BUA’s ongoing expansion, offering faster mobility for management teams, improving logistics for high-level engagements, and supporting the group’s widening operational scope across Nigeria and internationally.

With multiple projects underway across power, food processing, sugar, rice, and animal feed, the addition of Bombardier’s latest flagship spotlights BUA Group’s pace of growth — and Rabiu’s commitment to building a globally competitive Nigerian conglomerate.
