Finally, Tinubu Endorses Hamzat As Lagos APC Guber Candidate

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally endorsed Obafemi Hamzat as the Lagos APC consensus governorship candidate during a meeting with members of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting, attended by GAC leader Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is seen as a key political alignment within the Lagos APC structure ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed the development on Wednesday evening, noting that the endorsement reflects a unified position within the Lagos APC leadership, following earlier backing from the GAC and Governor Sanwo-Olu.
The development further consolidates Hamzat’s position as the party’s consensus choice, reinforcing continuity within the ruling APC’s political structure in Lagos State.
