Accord Party candidate for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has unveiled a 336-member campaign council, with Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, named as one of the council’s patrons.

Also listed as patrons are Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye and High Chief Dele Faseru.

The campaign council, according to a statement by the Olajengbesi Campaign Organisation, brings together political stakeholders, professionals, community leaders, women, youths, students and grassroots mobilisers across the federal constituency.

Olajengbesi said the council was constituted to provide broad-based leadership and coordination for his campaign ahead of the election.

The central leadership is headed by Mayowa Adejorin as chairman, with Bayo Ogungbangbe as deputy chairman and Prince Adesoji Baderin as Director-General.

Ladesuyi Tope and Sola Adeyekun were appointed Deputy Directors-General for Obokun and Oriade respectively, while Hon. Omotoso Eniola serves as secretary and Sodiq Lawal Chocomilo as spokesperson.

The council includes committees covering strategy and political planning, mobilisation, ward coordination, youth and women mobilisation, media and publicity, digital media, research and policy, legal and compliance, election monitoring, finance, logistics, security, students, religious engagement and party affairs.

Among those named to various committees are Tope Abiola, Jimoh Odunayo Kenyatta, Ayodele Justice, Idowu Akinsola, Tola Faseru, Seun Fapounda, Olumide Agboola and Prince Adeloye Samuel.

Olajengbesi is challenging the long-serving incumbent, Oluwole Oke, who has represented the constituency in the House since 2003 and is contesting the 2027 election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oke is among the longest-serving members of the National Assembly and has held several senior committee positions.

The campaign organisation described its council as a broad representation of stakeholders from Oriade and Obokun, combining political mobilisation, professional expertise and grassroots engagement.

Olajengbesi said the council would coordinate the campaign’s activities and strengthen its engagement with voters across the constituency.

The legal practitioner and public affairs commentator is seeking to unseat Oke in what is expected to be a closely watched contest for the federal constituency.
