The spokesperson of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Imole Campaign Organisation re-election team, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has called for restraint and peaceful conduct ahead of the Osun State governorship election, warning against violence and the loss of innocent lives.

In a social media narrative on Tuesday morning, Olajengbesi expressed concern over an incident in his hometown of Ijebu-Jesa, saying it had heightened fears about the potential for political violence as the election approaches.

Without independently verifying the circumstances surrounding the incident, Olajengbesi urged political actors to reject violence and place the sanctity of human life above the pursuit of power.

“Anyone responsible for the shedding of innocent blood should remember that karma is real. You do not take a human life because of political power. It is shameful. It is disgraceful. This is a stain on our democracy and a shame on Nigeria as a nation,” he said.

He added: “Shame on those who believe that the path to power must be paved with the blood of innocent people. This page doesn’t support violence.”

Olajengbesi called on all political stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and avoid actions capable of undermining public confidence in the electoral process.

As of the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding the reported incident had not been independently verified, and no official statement had been issued by security agencies.
