Why Tinubu’s Major Campaigners Are Taking It Easy On Osinbajo

Emerging details have it that major campaigners of the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu presidential ambition have soft-pedaled on taking on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his backers.

And they are urging others to two the same path.

“No abuses” and “No disparaging comments” against the Vice President are some of the recent urgings of Tinubu’s chief supporters as they continue to project the political leader who declared a “categorical yes” on his Presidential ambition last week.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that Osinbajo’s support groups across different platforms adopted a similar position on Asiwaju right from the word go.

The 64 Vice President unlike his 69-year-old political leader has not made any public pronouncement on his presidential ambition.

But insiders insist Osinbajo’s body language speaks of intention to run.

Tinubu and Osinbajo from the same political family have emerged as the most publicly discussed contenders for the Presidential ticket of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) in recent time.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that one of the major reasons both sides have decided to be civil in their engagements in the fight for the APC’s presidential ticket is to avoid delivering terminal damages to the chances of whoever emerges as the candidate of the party for the election proper.

The election to determine the successor to President Muhammadu Buhari – who is also the leader of the APC – is scheduled for next year, 2023.
