Abdul Samad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, has reaffirmed his long-standing tradition of paying Sallah homage to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the visit as both symbolic and deeply personal.

The philanthropist in a statement shared on social media, said it was “truly an honour” to be received once again by the President, noting that the gesture has become a consistent part of his post-Sallah engagements over the years.

“It remains a cherished tradition for me to pay my respects and extend my greetings during Sallah,” the business leader wrote, adding that even though the celebration had passed by two weeks, he felt compelled to still convey his goodwill.

The billionaire industrialist also used the visit to extend birthday wishes to the President, who recently marked another year, describing the moment as an opportunity to convey “heartfelt good wishes”.

“I was also pleased to take the opportunity to extend my warm birthday wishes to His Excellency on his recent celebration,” the King of commerce said.

The role model added that he continues to keep the President in his prayers, wishing him “good health, long life, and renewed strength” as he steers the affairs of the country.

The visit underscores the longstanding relationship between Nigeria’s political leadership and key figures in the private sector, particularly at a time when the government continues to rely on industrial growth and private capital to drive economic recovery.

As founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu oversees one of Nigeria’s most profitable conglomerates with major interests spanning cement production, sugar refining, and food processing.

In recent years, the company has recorded significant revenue growth, driven by aggressive expansion in its cement business and strategic investments in manufacturing, positioning it as a major competitor in Nigeria’s industrial landscape.

Beyond business, the leading investor’s philanthropic footprint has also expanded through the ASR Africa Initiative, a platform through which he has committed hundreds of millions of dollars to social development projects across Africa.

The initiative has funded interventions in healthcare, education, and social infrastructure, including grants to universities, medical institutions, and community development programmes.

His dual role as an industrialist and philanthropist has placed him at the intersection of economic and social development, making his engagements with government not only ceremonial but also reflective of broader national interests.

Abdul Samad Rabiu’s latest visit, though rooted in tradition, comes at a time when expectations remain high for stronger collaboration between government and the private sector in addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.
