A lot of activities and planning are underway toward the swearing-in of Governor Dapo Abiodun for a second term in office.

The swearing-in scheduled for May 29, 2023, and events surrounding it are generating lots of discussions among the governor’s men.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the dominant talks are that of a “major shake-up” in Abiodun’s team for his second term.

There is said to be a very strong underground push to make the governor “politically stronger” in his second term.

“There are claims that more politically oriented persons with a better grasp of how to mobilize support at the grass root will be given appointments in his second term and many of those in the outgoing administration sidelined” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The information available revealed that propelling these talks are lessons from Abiodun’s near loss in March 18, 2023, Ogun state gubernatorial election and considerations for future ambition(s).

Abiodun secured a slim- second-term-electoral win in a disputed victory that is still the subject of “litigation”.

The Governor who flew the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the March 28 election by less than 14,000 votes. Abiodun pulled 276, 298 votes while his main challenger Ladi Adebutu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) got 262, 383 votes.

Adebutu, however, insists that he was leading by 33,000 votes before results were canceled in areas he is popular.

The PDP candidate wants to prove in court that amongst other things, by “the doctrine of margin” he won the Ogun state 2023, gubernatorial election.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that Senator-Elect, Gbenga Daniel was initially held responsible for the near loss by Abiodun’s men and was flamed on social media by them but, later introspection revealed the causes are bigger than the action of the former governor.

“So the claim is that it is in a bid to fix these causes and make the governor more politically formidable for his second term and future objectives, a shake-up that will see many of the current appointees not serving in his next administration looms” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
