Emerging details have it that though he has declared his ambition, former Senator Gbenga Obadara is slightly holding back on his plan to return to the senate.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that this is based on an informal understanding Obadara has with the present occupier of the Ogun Central Senatorial seat he wants to retake.

Former Governor Ibikunle Amosun is the present occupier of the seat.

“Obadara has stated that as long as Amosun is interested in the seat he won’t vie for it” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Lanre Tejuosho

The declaration was reportedly made ahead of the 2019 general election.

But Amosun who, multiple sources insist has the strongest political structure in Ogun East, is decorated with talks of Presidential Ambition.

“Though Amosun has not publicly declared his presidential ambition it has given those interested the chance to tell their intentions in case he doesn’t seek a return to the Senate, the belief is that Obadara falls into this group.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The talks in political circles are that the Ogun Central senatorial seat is for Amosun to lose – if he decides to backtrack on his Presidential ambition.

Aside from Obadara, Lanre Tejuosho who relinquished the Ogun Central Senatorial seat to Amosun ahead of the 2019 general election is also said to be interested in a return to the seat in the face of talks of the former Governor’s presidential ambition.

Olatorera Majekodunmi – Oniru

Also interested is newcomer Olatorera Majekodunmi – Oniru, the daughter of chairman of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUPEB) Femi Majekodunmi.

Majekodunmi-Oniru has been especially intentional in making her senatorial aspiration known with more pronounced engagements here and there.

Obadara was the Senator representing Ogun Central from 2011 to 2015 while Tejuosho occupied the same position from 2015 to 2019.
