How Amosun Is Aggressively Building Foot Soldiers

The 63yr old on list of possible successor of President Buhari

The saying that politicians are the most obstinately optimistic people is massively working for Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

The immediate past Governor of Ogun state – 29 May 2011 to 29 May 2019 – is aggressively building an increasing army of foot soldiers in Ogun State on this premise.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that at the heart of the recruitment of more supporters for the Senator representing Ogun Central are growing talks of his presidential ambition and perception he remains the man to beat in Ogun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amosun and his successor Dapo Abiodun are locked in a fight for the control of the APC in Ogun state with unofficial sources insisting the Senator has the edge.

“Amosun’s supporters are making a very big thing out of the talks of his presidential ambition, they have made it so believable to the point of creating campaign cells that they are getting more people to buy into the dream. The optimism they are employing in going about this business is out of this world” SocieyNow.Ng learned.

63year old Amosun is on the list of the possible successor of President Muhammadu Buhari being bandied about town.

The list includes Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (the most publicly discussed aspirants), and Governor of Ekiti State Kayode Fayemi.

Amosun’s supporters insist the Senator’s closeness to President Buhari and links forged with “the famed northern caucus” will tell a lot in his favor.

“The chances of Amosun securing the APC Presidential ticket and by even the slightest margin succeeding Buhari is getting more grassroots politicians to his sides even if the new members are not as committed to his cause as their recruiters” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Further information by SocietyNow.Ng revealed that hardcore supporters of the son of Alhaji Abdul Oyedeni Sanusi-Amosun and Alhaja Rafatu Alake Mojisola Akinbola are passionately helping to recruit members into his political family on three fronts.

“They believe winning the APC Presidential ticket and becoming President in 2023 is the biggest win for them, bidding for the ticket and not winning but getting a big say in the next government is the next best thing and thirdly, they need the influence that comes with numbers to install one of them as the next Governor of Ogun state. So, it is actually a three in one agenda they are pushing with the ongoing recruitment” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
