Former Governor of Ogun State Gbenga Daniel has shifted his political base as part of efforts to actualize his senatorial ambition.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that Daniel, 65, has opted to vie for the Ogun East senatorial position as an aspirant from Omu – Ijebu.

Daniel, a successful engineer with interests in the hospitality sector ruled Ogun state for a two-term of 8years (29 May 2003 – May 2011) based on claims of being from Remo (Makun, Ishagamu).

Emerging indications revealed he has switched to being from Ijebu (Omu-Ijebu) for his senatorial ambition.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that the former Governor’s profile indicates his father, Most Rev. Adebola Daniel is from Remo (Makun, Ishagamu) while his mother, Madam Olaitan Daniel is from Ijebu ( Omu-Ijebu).

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that Daniel shifting his political base from Remo to Ijebu for his senatorial ambition is not unconnected with the re-election bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
