Why Asiwaju Tinubu Is Being Linked To Attack On MC Oluomo At Sanwo-Olu’s Campaign
Charles Oyelesi
There is a new narrative about the attack on transport union boss, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo at the flag off campaign for Babajide Sanwoolu, the gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.
The narrative gives a political slant to the incident which transpired on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, in Ikeja, Lagos State.
The word in the political circle is that it is an indirect attack on the influence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu a source asserted.
The fresh angle comes after societynow.ng’s exclusive report on events that foretold the attack, and the implication on Oluomo’s ambition to become the State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

Informants within the political space, however, claim the supremacy battle is being treated as masking an ulterior motive by top-level politicians.
‘’Oluomo is the chief coordinator of the union boys for Asiwaju Tinubu. And the attack on Oluomo is seen as a direct message to the former governor regarding his control on the union members’’ a source analyzed.
Ahead of the campaign that turned bloody, societynow.ng had reported how Oluomo and his side-kick Koko Zaria (Wasiu Ayinde Oyedepo) had turned regular callers at the home of Tinubu and given premium access.

Insiders claim one of the reasons for the meetings was to ensure that the kind of violence that rocked the flag off campaign for Sanwoolu doesn’t happen.
According to a source ‘’It is an open secret that Oluomo does this and related tasks for Asiwaju and his party in Lagos, and consistently measured up to the responsibilities until this recent development. So the implication of a man that is supposed to safeguard things getting attacked and seriously injured is better imagined’’.
Checks by societynow.ng revealed that despite the seemingly public posture of ‘’a united family’’, the All Progressives Congress in Lagos state is yet to overcome the conflict that denied Governor Akinwunmi Ambode a second term in office.
And the recent violence at the party’s campaign ground is been treated as an offshoot of that conflict by the leadership of the party – with Tinubu fingered as indirect target societynow.ng learned.
The police have, however, declared a transport union top shot Mustapha Adekunle (Seego) declared wanted as part of an investigation into the development.
