Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has dismissed reports claiming that Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, visited him and he pledged to work with him.

MC Oluomo, who is the national president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), described the viral report and accompanying image as false and misleading.

He said the image currently being circulated was manipulated and had already been flagged as photoshopped by independent fact-checkers.

In a statement on Monday, MC Oluomo stressed that there is no evidence to suggest Obi met with him or sent him a congratulatory message. He added that he is currently abroad, making the reports even more baseless.

He urged the public to disregard the false narrative and warned against the spread of misinformation.

“I categorically state that this report is entirely false and without basis. Multiple fact-checking platforms have already debunked this claim, revealing that the image was photoshopped. There is no evidence of any meeting or congratulatory message from Peter Obi to me,” he said.

The NURTW president reiterated his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that his support for the president and his “Hope Agenda” remains unwavering.
