The Shine Goes Off Akpabio Big Stadium Defection Ceremony!

The shine appears off the planned big stadium ceremony defection of Senator Godswill Akpabio, even before it holds.

The event is earmarked for today at the Ikot Ekpene stadium, Akwa Ibom state.

Akpabio, a People’s Democratic Party Senator resigned position as Senate’s minority leader on Monday – August 6, 2018 – to be able to defect to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress today.

The build-up to Akapbio’s defection has been huge and expectations high far and near.

But it appears the event wouldn’t live up to anticipated interest.

Saraki just defected from the All Progressives Congress to join Ekweremadu in the opposition People’s Democratic Party.

The invasion of the National Assembly by the masked men was to allegedly prevent PDP Senators access till the deed was done.

The move backfired ‘’spectacularly’’ in the face of huge public outcry and alleged intervention from the international community.

Secret Service police boss, Lawal Daura had his appointment terminated as one of the consequences of the political misadventure.

The Senate President and his Deputy survived the alleged plot.

And in face of great interest on what he has to say, Senate President Saraki has announced the intention to address a world press conference today by midday- Today, August 8, 2018.

The timing coincides with that of Akpabio’s planned defection.
