The Governor of Anambra state, Charles Chukwuma Soludo says “Ndi Igbo as an itinerant people cannot afford to be an intolerant people within the Nigerian framework.”

Soludo made the assertion while airing his thoughts on the recent Igbo Day celebration in Enugu State.

“We will continue to celebrate who we are, ensuring that we find wisdom in knowing that Ndi Igbo as an itinerant people cannot afford to be an intolerant people within the Nigerian framework.” Soludo wrote in a post along with pictures from the event which he attended.

The Governor also pointed out that “While we continue to celebrate our unique cuture and tradition as a people, we will not forget to remind our people of the need to give our all to building a liveable and prosperous homeland. This is the course we must commit ourselves to as we build enduring infrastructure across the region.”

The message he posted unedited reads….

Some pleasant sights at today’s Igbo Day celebration in Enugu the eternal capital of the Igbo Nation.

While we continue to celebrate our unique cuture and tradition as a people, we will not forget to remind our people of the need to give our all to building a liveable and prosperous homeland. This is the course we must commit ourselves to as we build enduring infrastructure across the region.

At today’s outing I paid glowing tributes to our heroes past who, through prudent management of resources, built our region from the scratch, setting it apart as the fastest growing economy of the first republic.

We will continue to celebrate who we are, ensuring that we find wisdom in knowing that Ndi Igbo as an itinerant people cannot afford to be an intolerant people within the Nigerian framework.
May God bless alaigbo!

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
