According to insiders, the chances of Musiliu Akinsanya, the famous transport union chieftain becoming the next National President of the NURTW (National Union of Road Transport Workers Association) are on very shaky grounds.

Those who should know say the most telling pointer is the snubbing by President Bola Tinubu.

The development is attributed as one of the major reasons that forced the transport unionist better known as MC Oluomo to handover his position as Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW to his second-in-command, Mustapha Adekunle also known as Seego.

“But he still has not been able to see the President” according to those in the know.

Seego and MC Oluomo

Association with President Tinubu and the Lagos power circle gives the activities of MC Oluomo and the NURTW legitimacy.

The information at hand revealed that MC Oluomo inability to see President Tinubu started in December when he visited Abuja- in the company of Seego – to clear airs on his missteps ahead of handing over to the latter.

The President reportedly refused to see them but met with Seego after, MC Oluomo returned to Lagos.

“The problem started when contrary to directive, MC Oluomo attempted to clandestinely retain control of the Lagos NURTW by inaugurating branch chairmen for another term before Seego was announced as his replacement. The plan was Oluomo would become National President and Seego, the Treasurer announced as the Lagos state Chairman. The branch chairmen are major sources of revenue for the executives and in trying to inaugurate new branch chairmen, Oluomo tried to retain control of the massive income in Lagos state while trying to become the National President. Seego kicked against the move because it was exactly what former President Ibikunle Baruwa tried and they went to war with him. The matter was taken to the President who sent words that there should be no inauguration but MC Oluomo went ahead with the first set under the guise of doubting the credibility of the message and set off a chain reaction that quickened his exit as state chairman and is threatening his chances of becoming the national president of the NURTW” sources say.

Seego, Oluomo, Kudety

Though the President continues to snub the famous transport unionist, sources say Seego still has direct access.

Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, MC Oluomo, Mustapha Seego and a third person – Sulaimon Ojora (Kudety) rose to prominence and took charge of the money-spinning Lagos state chapter of the NURTW based on strong strong alliance with Tinubu and the Lagos state power circle.
