Shockers As Gov Oyetola Refuses To Pick Aregbesola’s Son, Tinubu’s Aide As Chief Of Staff

Osun state governor Gboyega Oyetota has appointed his chief of Staff.

And shockingly it is neither Kabiru Aregbesola, the son of former governor Rauf Aregbesola nor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s aide Tunde Rahman.

Tunde Rahman is reportedly the favoured candidate of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

While ex governor Aregbesola wanted his son to take the position the incumbent governor occupied in his eight years administration of Osun state.

The development resulted in a silent face-off.

Oyetola was sworn-in as the fifth executive governor of Osun state on November 27, 2018.

And it took the government close to four months to make major appointments.

Oyetola has resolved the situation with an unexpected announcement. Neither Kabiru nor Rahman made the cut a as Chief of Staff.

A statement by Mr Adeniyi Adesina the Chief Press Secretary to the governor just revealed Diji Akintola as Mr Oyetola’s choice.

The press statement was made available to media men in the evening of Thursday March 14, 2019.

According to the statement the governor also approved the appointments of Prince Oluwole Oyebamiji and Mr. Adeyanju Abdullah Binuyo as Secretary to the State Government and Deputy Chief of Staff respectively.

Dr. Akinola is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a Fellow of the Weatherhead Centre for International Affairs, Harvard University. He has a wealth of experience in international development, public policy and cross-sector partnerships.

For many years Mr Akintola served asCountry Director, TechnoServe, an international development organisation reputed for its work in agriculture value chains and agribusinesses, and later Executive Director, Enterprise for Development International.
