Gbenga Obadara has dumped intention to return to the Senate.

Societynow.ng learned Obadara initiated campaign with the belief he would be slugging it out with incumbent Senator Lanre Tejuosho for the All Progressives Congress’ ticket for Ogun Central senatorial district.

Insiders revealed though Tejuosho took over the Senatorial seat from Obadara, the incumbent’s performance has frittered away his reckoning and swung public perception back in favour of Obadara.

Societynow.ng, however, learned a bigger political player has joined the fray.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has declared the intention to take over the Ogun Central seat once he finishes his last term.

Amosun personifies the strength of the APC in Ogun state.

The Governor decides who becomes what within the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

Obadara has chosen to be realistic with his Senatorial ambition and quit the race in face of superior political strength.

And the immediate past Senator representing Ogun Central puts the thing in perspective with the statement he realized concerning the development.

The statement reads

“Good morning my good people.

I do appreciate everybody for the support and concern on this journey for me to return to the Senate of the Federal Republic Nigeria in 2019 for our Senatorial District under our great party APC.

As you are aware, I put out a caveat when I came out to contest “That upon the decision of the Governor of the State to come out to contest for the same Senate Seat, I will step down immediately”.

Life goes with integrity and any human being that fails integrity text in any way loses the value to be counted worthy. I so much appreciate your concern and dedication to my return to the Senate to continue with my good job of attracting more developmental projects to the Senatorial as I did when I was there between 2011-2015 with 133 life touching projects and another 6 thereafter.

I hereby with all humility announce to everyone that at this time I will discontinue my campaign and interest while we watch as the event unfolds in fulfilment of my pledge. Thank you for everything as I believe and assure my supporters across Ogun Senatorial District, the State and Nation that I remain available for anything that will contribute to the development of The Egbas throughout my life and indeed to all Nigerians.

Thank you ALL for the opportunity to create me a SENATOR for life. Modupe gidigidi gaan ni oooooo. SENATOR OBADARA.”
