PDP Guber Candidate Goes On Exile

People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in Kebbi State During 2015 general elections Sarkin Yaki Bello has gone on exile, societynow.ng’s checks revealed.

An army retired general, Sarkin Yaki refused to let go after the electoral defeat he suffered.

He was trounced by All Progressives Congress candidate and incumbent governor Abubakar Bagudu.

He, as a matter of fact, went ahead to challenge the outcome of the election at the election tribunal.

Bello pursued the electoral matter to the Supreme Court.

But most of these were done in his absence, sources who are familiar with the legal battle disclosed.

The December 2018 supreme court judgment delivered in favor of governor Bagudu was done in his absence as he was evidently absent, further findings revealed.

Bello was said to have scampered out of town following the government’s move to pick him to answer questions over his involvement in the much talked about $2billion dollars arms deal scandal that rocked past administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Sarkin Yaki Bello is a retired Major General in the Nigerian army and served in various formations.

At a time, he worked as JTF commander in the Niger Delta.

He served in Jonathan’s administration as Coordinator on Counterterrorism.
