Witnesses disclosed as early as 10.00 a.m on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, all arrangements were virtually in place for the celebration of the election of Elemide Oludaisi as the Speaker of the new Ogun State House of Assembly in his base.

“All the tents, very big tents were up and arrangements of seats were being perfected, they had killed the cow and all that” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

The arrangements were made in his stronghold at the open space near poultry in Odeda Local Government area.

Insiders disclosed Elemide, a ranking member of the state house of Assembly had done massive ground work to be elected as Speaker after the inauguration scheduled for the same day.

“He is said to be popular among the lawmakers-elect, the claims are that he is favored by the majority to get the position. He is a third term lawmaker but this is his second term back-to-back” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

But Governor Abiodun who is vested with the constitutional role of proclaiming the new Ogun State House of Assembly was not at hand – he opted to attend the inauguration of the National Assembly.

The Governor’s absence forced a shift in the start of the Ogun state state House of Assembly to another date.

And also forced the cancellation of the party to celebrate the claimed planned election of Elemide as the new speaker.

“They just started unpacking the tents, there were no celebrations again. As at around 5p.m, there were still at it” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The talks are that the House of Assembly will be inaugurated next week SocietyNow.ng learned.

Insiders, however, insist that becoming Speaker won’t be that easy for Elemide.

Additional information revealed that Governor’s choice of attending the inauguration of the National Assembly instead of proclaiming the Ogun State House of Assembly open is a significant pointer to the unravelling-behind-the-scenes.
