No Politician In Ogun, Dead Or Alive, Can Make The Claim – Yemi Oke Shuts Down Talks Of Being Paid To Campaign For Yayi
the senior lawyer declared
Yemi Oke, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and founder of the Egbalokan Agenda 2027, has emphatically shut down claims of being paid to campaign for Senator Olamilekan Adeola as the next Governor of Ogun State.
“By God’s grace, NO POLITICIAN IN OGUN STATE, dead or alive, can ever claim to have given me a kobo or bought my loyalty. None of them has such financial capacity,” the senior lawyer declared in a note shared on social media.
The Egbalokan Agenda 2027, founded by the professor of Energy and Electricity Law, is advocating for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s successor to emerge from Ogun Central, particularly from Egbaland.
Abiodun, who hails from Ogun East, will leave office in 2027 after serving two terms spanning eight years.
Senator Adeola, famously known as Yayi, represents Ogun West but recently traced his maternal roots to the heart of Egbaland in Ogun Central.
The Egbalokan Agenda 2027 has listed Senator Yayi as one of the gubernatorial aspirants under consideration from Ogun Central, sparking various narratives, including one the founder has taken steps to shut down.
“Again, I repeat, NO POLITICIAN IN OGUN STATE—GNI (Gboyega Nasir Isiaka), Otegbeye (Biyi Otegbeye), Yayi (Senator Solomon Adeola), Sarafa (Sarafa Isola), Triple A (Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade), Ladi (Ladi Adebutu), etc.—or anyone can be so condescending as to offer me money. They all know my worth. Quite frankly, I spend my money on their political pursuits once I’m convinced of their aspirations,” he re-emphasized.
The well-known figure in Ogun State’s political landscape further stated, “I’ve got my own political and related ambitions!”
He dared those pushing the claim to put their names to it.
Senator Adeola, who represents the only senatorial zone yet to produce a governor in Ogun State, remains the leading gubernatorial aspirant ahead of the 2027 election.
