Never-say-die supporters of a former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole insist he will still be named Minister in the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

And they have provided a lucid reason that upturned claims of soiled chances with the appointment of Wale Edun.

“In a year or two, a cabinet reshuffle will come and Bankole will be named Minister” is the theme of the assertions according to findings by SocietyNow.Ng.

A cabinet reshuffle is when Ministers are dropped – or re-assigned – based on their performances during the period under review.

Those who should know confirm a cabinet reshuffle is inevitable in Tinubu’s administration without confirming when or Bankole’s chances of becoming a Minister.

The new claims add fresh fuelling to unending talks Bankole will be recognized as a key contributor to the emergence of the President Bola Tinubu administration with a prominent appointment.

Bankole who later became a permanent fixture on the campaign train of Tinubu – ahead of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election – was one of those who paid the stipulated N100M to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket.

The son of master politician Alani Bankole stepped down and passionately campaigned for Asiwaju Tinubu – putting the strong influence in the north he inherited from his father, and added to, as Speaker of the House of Representatives into play.

Elected as the youngest Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives at the age of 37 in November 2007, while serving the second of two terms as the federal lawmaker representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency of Ogun State from June 2003 to June 2011, Bankole has not been able to win any elective position in Ogun state since he left office.

Before he joined the APC, Bankole was a gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Ogun state (2019) after leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to a conflict of interests.
