Emerging details have it that Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is extremely happy that Gbolahan Lawal is the new Oniru – King of Iruland, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Lawal, regarded as one of the longest-serving commissioners in Lagos state resigned from Sanwo-Olu’s cabinet and barely twenty-four hours (24hrs) his approval by the government as the new Oniru-elect was announced.

Societynow.ng gathered that Lawal who is one the golden boys of shot caller Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a ‘’big masquerade’’ in the government of Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Inside disclosed that Lawal who narrowly missed becoming the governor of Lagos state twice – though fresh information points at thrice, because he was said to also be in contention after the immediate past governor of Lagos state, Ambode was limited to a single term – had, over the years,  amassed ‘’a profile’’ that threatened Governor Sanwo-Olu.

‘’You know Sanwo-Olu was not even in contention to become governor when he was picked by Asiwaju, the governor even admitted that he actually lobbied to become a kitchen staff of his deputy Femi Hamzat when the latter was touted as a possible successor to Babatunde Fashola, With that background, Sanwo-Olu found it uncomfortable relating with someone that came close to becoming governor thrice and who is also a silent but bigger player in the Tinubu political family serving as a commissioner in his government..but naturally he couldn’t complain because he understands what is actually at stake’’ societynow.ng gathered.
