Once Again, Asiwaju Tinubu Shows His Might As Sanwo-Olu Confirms Gbolahan Lawal As Lagos King, Oniru – Elect

Gbolahan Lawal, the extremely loyal follower of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been confirmed as the king-elect of Oniru.
The confirmation comes from Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu who owes his position to the ‘’large-heart ‘’ of the powerful politician.
Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary Gboyega Akosile’s press statement on the development stated in part ‘’ The Lagos State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, having satisfied all legal requirements, has approved the nomination and appointment of Prince Gbolahan Lawal as the new Oba-Elect of Iruland (the Oniru-Elect of Iruland)…’’
The statement asserted that the appointment of Lawal as Oniru- Elect which ‘’takes immediate effect was made on Friday afternoon, during the State’s Executive Council meeting, where final ratification was made on his nomination’’
The announcement by the Lagos state government – from where the authority to confirm a king resides – is a masterstroke that ‘’shuts down’’ growing agitation over the move to make Lawal the new Oniru against the choice of Hakeem Ajasa, a leading contender who has cornered a widespread acceptance in the tussle for the crown of Iruland, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The checks by societynow.ng revealed that this particular strategy is not new to Tinubu in installing preferred choices as Kings in Lagos state.
He used it when he was governor and when his successor Babatunde Raji Fashola was governor.
The approval of Lawal as Oniru- Elect by the Lagos state government barely 24hrs after he resigned as commissioner makes it three leading kings Tinubu as installed in Lagos state, and two that were his aide.
The Oniru-Elect was the ADC when Tinubu served as governor of Lagos state and maintained an extraordinary tie that is still paying off. The other is wealth king of Ikate, dubbed the richest among his peers, Oba Ademola Saheed Elegushi was a personal assistant to Asiwaju Tinubu – and reputed to be fiercely loyal to the powerful politician.
