Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele is on his way out of office.

His five-year tenure lapses in June 2019.

But emerging details indicate the Governor of the nation’s apex bank may not be bowing out in bright colors.

All shades of controversies are emerging about Mr. Emefiele.

The Central Bank Governor accused of flouting laid down rules to provide the fund for the election of immediate past administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan is doused in fresh charges.

He is accused of nepotism in the recruitment of staff of the Central Bank and ethnicity in influencing appointments of key players within the CBN.

Accused of withholding approval for payment of contractors for ‘’political reasons’’, Emefiele is- just like with previous administration – decorated with charges of attempting to help the ruling party retain power.

Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party expressed his opinion about Emefiele in a recent chat.

‘’I don’t think he’s pursued the right policies’’ Atiku is quoted as saying and proffered a solution ‘’if’’ his party wins the February 16, 2019, Presidential election stating ‘’We have to have the right people in there’’.

Emerging details also indicate Emefiele may well be aware of what he faces after leaving office.

The Central Bank Governor is said to have relocated his immediate family abroad in preparation for what is to come.

He is also said to be plotting a handover by proxy on the premise of health challenge before the due date.

Emefiele has however kept sealed lips as the controversies rage, opting to keep his planned defense and next line of action very tight to his chest – for now.
