Governor Ibikunle Amosun Lobbies To Be On President Jonathan’s Entourage!

The governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun is quietly working on a new agenda.

He wants to be an integral part of the entourage of President Goodluck Jonathan on strategic trips.

According to a source ‘it doesn’t matter whether it is foreign or local, the targets are travels that are considered image boosting for Governor Amosun’

Insiders revealed the agenda behind this ploy as ‘positioning the Ogun state helmsman in a way that will cultivate national appeal- and draw attention to the state as well’

The source, a pro Amosun factor was however quiet on the political implication of the Governor elected on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria romancing and striving to be on the entourage of official that secured office on the strength of rival party, People’s Democratic Party.

It is however instructive to note, Mr Amosun was formerly of the PDP before he joined All Nigeria’s People’s Party and later ACN that was instrumental in helping achieve his gubernatorial ambition.

Investigations by societynowng.com revealed that Ogun state commissioner for Commerce, Abimbola Ashiru is spear heading the ‘part of Presidential entourage’ plot.

With full backing of Mr Governor- He is said to be majorly working in concert with ‘a top level’ protocol officer in the Presidency to achieve this aim.

Both Governor Amosun and Commissioner Ashiru reportedly visited Aso Rock (twice) recently- in August 2012 to perfect arrangements.

Further digs by societynowng.com revealed all things being equal- the efforts should start manifesting any time soon.

Whether the Governor is acting with the knowledge of the leadership of his party, ACN to romance the opposition is not clear at press time.
