Former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole was one of the presidential aspirants for the 2023 election.

Reports have it that he was one of those that paid one hundred million for the form that made him an aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

SocietyNow.Ng, however, gathered that despite the huge amount he paid and the status it conferred on him, the presence of the former speaker is not felt in the APC Ogun state where he hails.

“He is not seen as a major factor in Ogun APC. He doesn’t own a structure and is not part of any formidable structure, that is how he is perceived on the streets” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

A former chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bankole’s made his last major political contest in Ogun state as the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in 2019.

Details available have it that there are four major structures of the APC in Ogun state named after their leaders, Gbenga Daniel, Ibikunle Amosun, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and Yayi (Solomon Olamilekan Adeola).

The Yayi structure houses Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Bankole is not known to be a member of any of the groups and does not have any to his name SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that this development is the cause of a buzz around town regarding reasons Bankole bought N100million presidential nomination form of a party he is not seriously identified with and can not influence its actions in his base.
