The former Speaker of the federal House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole is proving to his political supporters that he is not your run of the mill politician.

Bankole, who contested the 2019 gubernatorial election as the candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) suffered a dismissal performance in the electoral contest.

He got less than Ten thousand votes in an election the winner and runner up got well over one hundred thousand votes.

And these were politicians with lesser political pedigree.

Insiders disclosed that as a payback of a sort for the misleading confidence from supporters that goaded him into the embarrassing result, sources disclosed that Bankole has become unreachable to his political supporters and withdrawn his patronage

“Even during uring the Covid-19 lockdown crisis when all other political groups were enjoying patronage from their political leaders, we didn’t get anything. They said he is angry” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that has been the situation since the election.

Societynow.ng gathered that he has not set foot on his constituency office and the party office since the election held.

“He appears to have shut off all those that led him into the 2019 gubernatorial contest based on what he now believes was false premises, including religious leaders” societynow.ng learned.

Many believe that Bankole is withholding patronage as a punishment of a sort to those “concerned”.

“To be fair, if all those people actually voted for him, including the religious leaders he trusted so much and he met with in the last leg of his campaign, he ought to have secured far more than the less than ten thousand votes recorded against his name in the whole of Ogun State, they should see it as a deserving punishment” a source threw in cheekily.
