Drama Over Sit-At-Home Relief Packages Continues In Ogun As Dapo Abiodun Releases Number Of Targeted Homes

The drama over the sit-at-home relief packages continues in Ogun State as Governor Dapo Abiodun releases the numbers of homes targeted in the intervention by his administration as the total lockdown of the state begins at 11.00 p.m today( Friday, April 3, 2020).

Governor announced that his administration is targeting five hundred thousand homes (500,000) in all the 236 wards of the state.

The añnouncement comes after it was revealed that fierce rival Senate Ibikunle Amosun is targeting twenty-five thousand families (25,000) with his own intervention.

The state governor in earlier pronouncement did not give a figure to the number of homes targetted in the “palliative measure” which kicks of tomorrow and is meant to help the residents tide over the initial fourteen days of the total lockdown in the fight against coronavirus.

Governor Abiodun had simply announced an intervention that would reach all the 236 wards in Ogun state and another major player Ladi Adebutu went toe to toe with him by announcing he would do the same – reach all the 226 wards in Ogun State.

Amosun took a different turn by announcing the huge figure of 25,000 families as the target of his intervention to the admiration of many and Governor Abiodun has taken the wind out of the applause for Amosun by putting a figure of 500,000 homes as planned beneficiaries of the relief packages put together by his administration.

Abiodun’s latest move adds more color to the raging fight for the attention of the people of Ogun State in this dire period by top problems trying to outdo one another all shades of palliative measures.

Gubernatorial hopeful Ladi Adebutu, Ladi Senator governor (Senator) Ibikunle Amosun, and incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun are the main players in the unfolding war putting smiles on the face of residents of Ogun State.

While Adebutu is a chieftain of the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party – Amosun and Abiodun are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress but engaged in an intense supremacy battle.
