Details: Organized Labour Calls Emergency Workers Congress To Determine Dapo Abiodun’s Fate

The Organized Labour in Ogun State has called Emergency Workers Congress to determine the fate of Governor Dapo Abiodun tomorrow, September 15, 2020.

The workers union gave the Governor a 14(Fourteen) days ultimatum to meet its demand or face industrial action.

The ultimatum ends tomorrow.

The Governor is said to have failed to meet the demands and also did not meet the leaders of the Union.

Leader of the Labour Congress in Ogun State Bankole Emmanuel insists that the Governor has refused to meet with the negotiating team but kept sending emissaries who are not in a position to act on the workers’ demands.

According to a notice issued to all ‘’civil and public service employees of Ogun state,’’ the emergency congress will hold at ‘’Arcade Ground, State Secretariat, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta by 11.a.m’’

The notice of invitation has it that the emergency congress will address, the non implementation of the negotiated and signed new minimum wage, the contributory pension scheme, unpaid leave allowances, unpaid gratuity to retirees, promotion of staff, and unremitted deductions.

According to the notice signed by the NLC State Chairman Comrade Bankole Emmanuel, TUC State Vice-Chairman Lasisi Akeem, and JNC Chairman Folororunsho Olanrewaju the emergence congress seeks to ‘’end the ugly trends’’.
