Sources disclosed that the head of all the bosses at transport union group, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has put in place a “palace palatial.”

The NURWT National President Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa is neck-deep in the race to become the first King in charge of the Balogun / Onjuwon area of Ota, Ogun State.

The topmost man at the NURTW in Nigeria is said to have maternal links to the area which is a part of Ogun West.

Though tradition forbids sons from the maternal side to become the King of any town in Yorubaland, Baruwa who took over from Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin as the National President of the NURTW in 2019 is emboldened in his bid with examples like respected Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, the Osile Oke-Ona Egbe (in Ogun State) and recently in Lagos State, Oniru of Iruland Oba Gbolahan Lawal who defied the odds.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered that the “palatial palace” attributed to Baruwa in the area he wants to become a king is not a “new development.”

Sources disclosed that he built the structure that befits a king and dwarfs that of any reigning king near and far as one of his strong declarations of the seriousness of his intention.

Added revelation has it that he courted many of the locals to his side with the provision of electricity, tarred roads, and clean water, and related lives impacting initiatives.

“Baruwa has brought massive development to that area through direct interventions or influencing government projects” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders insist that he is quite popular in the area, especially based on how he has impacted lives.

And his “massive palace’ is labeled a major attraction.

The checks by societynow.ng, however, revealed that his ambition to become King got colored in unflattering shades recently.

The plot to become King spiraled into a fight for who is in control of the land and in a bid to forcefully assert control in a part of the area he targets as part of his “kingdom”, actions that caused panic in the community unraveled.

Societynow.ng gathered that with his name on the lips of many as the most popular of the players in the episode, the NURTW National President is said to be battling the “backlash” in terms of perception.
