Insiders say Governor Ademola Adeleke and very influential party man, Oluwoke Oke are not quarreling.

Their quarrel reportedly started over Adeleke’s moves to assert his superiority as the senior party man.

Oke, a multiple-term Federal House of Representatives member is rated as a major financial muscle of the Osun state People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The 56yr Old Lawmaker representing Oriade/Obokun federal constituencies was central to keeping the PDP formidable in Osun state after the exit of political giants Olagunsoye Oyinlola (who is back in the PDP) and later Iyiola Omisore and others along with their men.

“He kept the party virile through funding and massive touching lives gestures to persons and communities irrespective of political affiliations.” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

With a support base cuts across political divides, Oke played significant roles in the emergence of Adeleke as the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP twice (2018 and 2022) and later Governor of Osun state on in the July 16, 2022 election.

Adeleke’s move to establish his position as the party leader in Osun state, after his swearing-in on November 27, 2023, pitched him against the political interests of Oke some claim.

But those who declare better knowledge of happenings in Osun PDP insist otherwise.

“The recent appointments in Osun state in the cabinet and council levels speak to the cordial rapport between Adeleke and Oke” is the counter-narrative.

Oke is said to have determined who became what in his locality.

Described as very generous, Oke is affirmed across board as a helping hand beyond politics and a major supporter of the traditional institution, especially the Kings and village heads.
