Amosun and Abiodun are neck-deep in the fight

Emerging details have it that Former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Muyiwa Oladipo, and other points men of Senator Ibikunle Amosun have “relocated”.

They have shifted base to Abuja.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the move is part of efforts to prepare for the May 26, All Progressives Congress convention.

The convention will elect new national officers for the ruling APC.

Amosun a former Governor of Ogun state -29 May 2011 – 29 May 2019 – has not less than six loyalists in different planning committees.

The list according to information available to societynow.ng includes Yetunde Onanuga (Screening Committee). Muyiwa Oladipo (Screening Appeal), Remi Adetayo ( Finance ), Mickey Kazeem (Transportation/Logistic), Ronke Sokefun (Entertainment/Welfare), and Rotimi Rahman ( Venue /Decoration/Site Servicing)

The added information available has it Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun is the chairman of the Transportation and Logistic Committee with Amosun’s man Mickey Kazeem as a member.

Abiodun has loyalists like Deji Ashiru and Yetunde Adewunmi in different committees according to the information at hand.

Amosun and Abiodun are neck-deep in the fight over who controls the Ogun State chapter of the APC.

Their fight for control has resulted in two factions of the APC- with parallel structures – in Ogun State.

Checks by SocietyNow.Ng revealed that while Yemi Sanusi the chairman of the faction loyal to Abiodun was recognized by outgoing acting National Chairman Mai Mala Buni – in a disputed process -, the faction loyal to Amosun has more members in the organizing committees planning the convention to elect a new chairman – and other national officers.

“Who becomes the next APC chairman is very important to both Amosun and Abiodun. It will determine their stakes in the party going forward, especially how much influence they wield in decision making ahead of the 2023 general election” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Abiodun is seeking re-election while Amosun, decorated with talks of aspiration to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari wants one of his loyalists to become a new governor.
