Details As Aremo Oniru, Akeem Ajasa’s Fight To Become Lagos King Oniru Becomes More Ferocious

The fight between Aremo Adesegun Abiodun – better known as Aremo Oniru – and Prince Akeem Ajasa over who becomes the next King of Iru Land has become more ferocious.

 Aremo Oniru is seeking to succeed his father, immediate past Oniru of Iru Land Oba Abiodun Idowu Oniru.

Prince Ajasa is battling to make kingmakers and other stakeholders stick to the arrangement that says it is his family’s turn to produce the new king – after they stood down for Oniru’s father to succeed his grandfather.

Insiders disclosed that Aremo Oniru, a member of the innermost caucus of powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is banking on the backing of the former governor and others in the political clan to take the crown.

Societynow.ng’s investigation, however, revealed that Ajasa is rivaling this particular influence with support from Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola.

Ajasa, a Chief superintendent of Police, was the Aide De Camp to Aregbesola when he was the governor of Osun State in a two-term of eight years.

Aregbesola has an ally in the support for Ajasa to become the new King of Oniru Land, Victoria Island Lagos in Cardinal James Odumbaku.

Odumbaku and Aregbesola are two major influences in the innermost caucus of Asiwaju Tinubu.

‘’Individually they have greater influences with Tinubu than Aremo not to talk of when they merge forces to achieve the same objective’’ a source pointed out.

Societynow.ng gathered that Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu is currently mobilizing traditional institutions in the state to push for the emergence of Ajasa as the new Oniru on the strength of fair play. And many are buying into the support for the police officer to take the throne.

Societynow.ng gathered that indeed based on laid down arrangement the throne should go to another family with the passage of Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru – and not to Aremo who is the eldest son of the king that just vacated the throne.

The further investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that Ajasa is also enjoying the silent support of Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives.

Ajasa is the current Chief Personal Security Officer to the Speaker Gbajabiamila.

Societynow.ng gathered that while the support for Ajasa grows on the premise of doing right by his family, Aremo Oniru is not staying idle.

Societynow.ng gathered that Aremo has deployed his war chest and contacts enlisting the support of friends and loyalists to position himself as ‘’ more capable’’ and ‘’fitting in status and caliber’’ to succeed his father.

Insiders disclosed that Aremo has gotten Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat to his side.

‘’They are quietly supporting Aremo to take the thrown’’ a source stated.

Sources disclosed that Aremo has also embarked on an aggressive campaign targeting the locals and other stakeholders to back his candidature as the king to be.

Young monarch with influence in Victoria Island, Oba Saheed insists he is not interfering in the process of the selection of a king in another domain, though sources claim he has sympathy for Ajasa based on the ‘’principle of fair play’’.

Insiders, however, insist as both sides engage in ferocious campaigns and piling of supports all eyes remain on Asiwaju Tinubu.

‘’Tinubu has a big say in what happens and all the campaigns are actually targeted at influencing his decision.
