The immediate past governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola is insisting no other person than his son would occupy the of office Chief of Staff to incumbent governor of Osun State an insider just confided in Societynow.ng.

Kabiru is the son former governor Aregbesola is positioning to occupy the office of chief of staff in the state he ruled for eight years.

Oyetola was sworn-in as the fifth executive governor of Osun state on November 27, 2018.

And about four months after he’s yet to name his Chief of Staff, a position considered by many as most powerful in any state government cabinet.

His predecessor Rauf Aregbesola’s stand that the position must go to his son is said to have been responsible for the situation.

Governor Oyetola served in the same capacity in the eight years reign of Aregbesola in Osun state.

Intriguingly Oyetola is former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu’s half brother.

Aregbesola’s insistence is reported to be against the wish his boss and national leader of ruling All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Tinubu.

Asiwaju Tinubu is said to be pushing for his spokesperson, Tunde Rahman.

Societynow.ng checks indicate Kabiru Aregbesola – brain behind the infamous Tablet of Learning (Opon Imo) distributed to secondary school students in the state – was on the verge of being announced as the occupier of the position when national leader of Asiwaju Tinubu came up with the name of Mr Rahman for the same office.

And this did not go down well with ex governor Aregbesola, a source stated.

The development, further digs revealed, is at the moment causing serious friction among the three political actors – Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rauf Aregbesola and the incumbent Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
