Final Rites As Akinlade’s Guber Campaign Boards Are Carted Off The Streets Of Ogun State

The final rites of the open campaign for the gubernatorial ambition of Adekunle Akinlade are on societynow.ng learned.

Akinlade was defeated as the gubernatorial of the Allied People’s Movement in Ogun state.

He was triumphed by Dapo Abiodun of the ruling All Progressives Congress despite intense support from sitting governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun was so intense in his open campaign for Akinlade – against the candidate of his own party – that he was suspended from the APC with a recommendation for his expulsion thrown into the damning verdict.

But Abiodun who became a rallying figure for eight years of anger against Amosun’s rule won the race.

Though Akinlade has vowed to contest the result of the election, sources confirmed that all banners and boards proclaiming his gubernatorial ambition are being taken off the streets of Ogun state.

‘’I witnessed the move’’ a source stated to societynow.ng.

Insiders disclosed that the development is particularly evident in the state capital, Abeokuta where Akinlade’s campaign dwarfed all other candidate’s ahead of the March 9 gubernatorial election.
