Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun has finally shown his hand against the gubernatorial ambition of his good friend, Dapo Abiodun.

Abiodun, the front person at oil company Heyden just recently declared an interest in becoming the next Governor of Ogun state.

While admitting the successes recorded by the current administration, he promised to leverage on the achievements to take Ogun state to greater heights.

Dapo Abiodun made the move in the face of raging talks of not enjoying the support of incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

A report on societynow.ng had provided insight into the political rapport between the Governor and his Heyden friend.

And to confirm his stance amongst party men, sources disclose Governor Amosun ordered members and loyalists not to accept Ed-El- Kabir gifts from gubernatorial aspirant Abiodun.

Societynow.ng gathered the directive is meant to pass a subtly message of rejection to the Heyden oil boss.

“The governor finally showed his hand with that move” a source stated.

But Dapo Abiodun is said to be forging ahead despite this move.

Abiodun is said to be working on his wealth of contacts within and outside the party, to actualize his dream of securing party ticket.

“Already a group of All Progressives Congress youths has emerged and fighting Abiodun’s cause and demanding Amosun doesn’t give him the Yayi treatment” a source stated.

Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola more popularly known as Yayi was muscled out of the Ogun state gubernatorial race with the political might of Governor Amosun.

The Senator who was the most visible Ogun state gubernatorial aspirant is back in Lagos fighting to retain his Senatorial ticket.

Insiders however disclosed to societynow.ng that, Abiodun has vowed to resist the “Yayi” treatment while exploring means to avoid a headlong clash with the Governor- as the first option.
