Sijibomi Ogundele Sujimoto

…as “sit tight” real estate merchant alleges he was beaten up

Popular real estate merchant behind Sujimoto Construction Limited, Sijibomi Ogundele has been served a quit notice by his landlord, Akin Marinho, a lawyer and the former General Counsel and Company Secretary at FBN Capital and RMB Nigeria .

The member of one of the old money families of Lagos Island sacked the real estate merchant from his rented detached 5-bedroom residential house situated in the exclusive highbrow area of Queens Drive; Ikoyi.

Known widely as Sujimoto, Sijibomi, the self-styled “Donald Trump of Nigeria” is the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Group of Companies which comprises of

real-estate, finance and energy divisions; and currently working on putting up the tallest residential building in Lagos themed “Lorenzo by Sujimoto”.
The quit notice which was dated May 5, 2015 asked him to relinquish the property at the expiration of his two-year tenancy which expired on 31st March 2016.

However, it appears the young money is preparing for a fight as he is still staying put at the premises and has instructed his lawyer to seek a perpetual injunction to restrain the landlord from ejecting him,

This is in face of allegations by the landlord that Sujimoto owes millions of naira and has breached several covenants in the tenancy agreement.

The real estate man is countering the allegation with claims his landlord stole his $120,000 Frank Muller wrist watch and beat him up.

This development is said to have forced landlord Marinho to begin eviction proceedings.

The case is reportedly being put together at the Lagos State High Court.
